RED DIDN’T move for a long time. Things were too perfect, and in his life, that didn’t tend to last long, so he wanted to enjoy this. He closed his eyes and listened to Terry breathe, gently stroked along his chest with the tips of his fingers, and just enjoyed being content for a while.

Terry broke the spell when he leaned forward and tugged Red down on top of him. Their bodies separated with a groan from both of them, and then the room was silent. It was a happy silence, one where Red didn’t think talking was necessary. He had what he wanted in his arms at this very moment. Talking about it couldn’t improve on it; it would just fill the room with sound, and he’d much rather stay with his eyes closed so he could pretend that Terry was his and that life would go on like this forever. He doubted things like that happened for guys like him. But he wanted it, so he let the fantasy continue for as long as he possibly could.

“We’re going to be stuck together permanently,” Terry whispered, teasing Red, because every time Terry moved, Red simply held him tighter.

“There are worse things I can think of than being stuck with you,” Red mumbled as he moved slightly. Terry chuckled and began to sit up. Red released him, and Terry stood by the side of the bed.

“Come on. I want to show you one of the simple joys of life.” Terry took Red’s hand, tugging him out of the bed, and they walked down the hall to the bathroom. Terry closed the door behind them and started the shower.

“Ah, I get it. One of the joys of life is you wet.” Red certainly thought so. Terry didn’t answer. He simply moved into Red’s arms. “I could get used to this.” Red hadn’t meant for Terry to hear that. But it was the truth. He’d gotten used to holding Terry in his arms so fast it was terrifying.

Red checked the water, and they stepped into the shower, pulling the curtain closed. The water ran over him, soaking Red’s skin. Terry stayed pressed to him, wet skin to wet skin. He must have found the soap because he began slicking Red’s skin, and soon they were soaping each other and then pressing together, rubbing and caressing each other in a celebration of slick, soapy hands and kisses that quickly escalated until Red found himself pressed back against the tile with Terry sucking him deep and hard until his knees buckled and the only thing keeping him upright was the wall and Terry’s sweet lips wrapped around him. When he came for the second time, it was all he could do not to crumple to the floor of the shower.

“Give me a minute, and I’ll…,” Red breathed.

“Hasn’t anyone ever done anything for you?” Terry asked. “Just relax. Everything doesn’t have to be equal. Sometimes it’s just nice to give.” Terry placed a hand on his chest, and Red put his on top of it.
